Bismuth is a heavy metal with almost the same density as lead. A very thin oxidation layer on its surface causes the most wonderful rainbow of colours. In contrast to most other heavy metals, bismuth is non-toxic and even has applications in medicine.
As it is a natural product, the colour and size may vary slightly from the specimens pictured.
