The Eurasian scops owl, also known as the European scops owl or just scops owl, is a small owl in the typical owl family Strigidae.The scientific name of the species was published as Strix scops in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus. The plumage of this bird is grey or reddish-brown with fine black markings. This little owl has two feather plumes on its head. Sometimes these 'ears' are barely visible, but when in danger, it puts them upright. They are almost never seen during the day.
